Three onboardings and a divestiture

Quarterhill kept buying and selling businesses. We brought three of its largest subsidiaries into NetSuite, ran a divestiture and set up shared services.

  • Chart of accounts harmonized
  • 4 entity changes delivered
  • Shared services model
VCG onboarded three of our largest subsidiaries and managed a full divestiture, making sure every configuration fit into a unified structure. They advised us toward a shared services model early on, which has saved us from rebuilding processes every time an entity comes or goes. They understand what M&A does to an ERP, and they plan for it.

The challenge

Quarterhill grows and reshapes itself through acquisitions and divestitures. Every entity that joined or left touched the chart of accounts, the subsidiary structure and the close process, and each one risked a one-off configuration that would make the next change harder.

What we did

Onboarded three subsidiaries

We brought three of Quarterhill's largest subsidiaries into NetSuite, fitting each one into a single, consistent structure instead of configuring them one by one.

Managed a full divestiture

When a business was sold, we separated it cleanly without disturbing the entities that stayed.

Early in the work, we advised Quarterhill to move to a shared services model, so finance processes are set up once and reused as entities come and go.

The outcome

New and departing entities now fit a structure that was planned for change, so the team no longer rebuilds processes with every deal.
